This is Satanosphere.com : Making the world a better place by bringing you smartass news of technology, evil, hot asses, and NO DIARIES ... from some of the internet's original wisecracking dickheads.
All you little girls who want to whine about your lives in the diaries can still get them here but don't complain to us if they're down for weeks at a time and we don't notice it.
Great, I bet next week I’ll get to write this story: “In yet another strange twist of fate Satanosphere co-founder Captain Tenille plans to auction off six of his eight cowboy shirts and make another couple million bucks.”
In awkward international news this week, the Spanish national basketball team has been recognized for it’s inability to show any racial sensitivity whatsoever towards this year’s Olympic host nation, China. Britan’s Guardian newspaper initially broke the story:
The advert features two large photographs, one of the men’s basketball team, above, and one of the women’s team. Both squads pose in full Olympic kit on a basketball court decorated with a picture of a Chinese dragon. Every single player appears pulling back the skin on either side of their eyes. The advert carries the symbol of the sport’s governing body.
No one involved in the advert appears to have considered it inappropriate nor contemplated the manner in which it could be interpreted in China and elsewhere. No offence was intended by the advert, but whether the Chinese see it that way is a different matter and it is likely to provoke more criticism at a delicate time for Spanish sport. The failure to recognise the potential consequences is striking in the light of the problems Spain has had with issues of race and the Spanish Olympic committee’s continued desire to host the Games in Madrid in 2016 or 2020.
Oops. You can see the offending photo here along with an explanation by NBA and Spanish national player, Jose Manuel Caldron of why it is really all just a big misunderstanding. Whatever. I just really wanted an excuse to post that great photo from Vice Magazine’s Dos & Don’ts. xoxo
If you don’t know the comedy of Zach Galifianakis then you suck. If you don’t like the comedy of Zach Galifianakis after being introduced to it, then I’m afraid we can’t be friends. If you still can’t type ‘Zach Galifianakis’ without looking it up then you need to practice harder.
Below is an introductory video, an ad Zach Galifianakis did for the makers of Absolut vodka, with only one condition of creativity:
“Zach was asked to make an ad for Absolut Vodka as part of their ongoing artist series. He agreed as long as he got to do what he wanted without any restrictions. He asked his friends Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim of “Tim and Eric’s Awesome Show, Great Job” to join him in creating the spot.”
I don’t expect you to appreciate the comedy yet. Zach Galifianakis is a difficult comic. Do yourself a favor and watch the other Absolute vodka ads: part 2, and part 3.
You still haven’t figured it out yet have you? Zach Galifianakis makes you uncomfortable, like he does to Jimmy Kimmel and Michael Cera in the ‘Between Two Ferns’ videos. That’s the whole fucking point! He is a comedian of discomfort. Plus he’s fucking hilarious… try to find the “Gay Snake” video some time.
